Introducing Emma West as a guest contributor

Social Work Christmas Meal 2013 023

It is with great pleasure and enormous pride that I introduce you to Emma West.  Emma is a  Law Graduate and Social Worker currently working as a Centre Manager for SPEAR – a charity which equips young people with the skills and self belief to find employment.  Her main area of interest is young people; specifically those from disadvantaged backgrounds, broken families and those involved with crime. Emma has volunteered in Zambia and Cape Town and hopes to do a lot more travelling in the coming years.  Whilst Emma says she is opinionated and loves to talk, she also loves to give advice and is known as a bit of an agony aunt amongst her friends.  Emma is currently single and is a true romantic at heart. She is an advocate of singleness and is passionate about enjoying and making the most of life whatever your relationship status. You can read more about her inspirational views on relationships in general and singleness in particular at www.singleisaword.wordpress.com

Introducing Miranda Heathcote as a guest contributor

It  is with huge pride that I introduce to you Miranda Heathcote as one of “Forever After’s” guest bloggers.  Miranda is married to Tim and together they have two beautiful daughters- Keziah and “Manu” (Emmanuelle).  Miranda and Tim have spent most of their married life in missions living in Mozambique, South Africa and now Spain and so I thought it would be great to invite a writer who could write with some authority on the “missionary position”!  If being married for over 20 years is not achievement enough Miranda has negotiated a challenging career as Communications Director for YWAM (Youth With A Mission), managing a family (including adopting her youngest daughter), and coping with the vicissitudes of working for faith based organisations, including mastering living in different cultures and learning to speak different languages.

Miranda is a prolific and gifted writer and always writes with warmth, passion, and humour infused with a healthy dose of what Aristotle once called phroenesis  (or practical wisdom).  Miranda has a passion for adventure and views marriage as an adventure of the heart- It’s a real privilege to share in that adventure in blogs that I’m sure will bless and challenge us all.
